Axiad Conductor Supports the New FIPS 140-3 Validated YubiKey 5 FIPS Series - On Day One

Yubico recently announced that the YubiKey 5 FIPS Series has achieved FIPS 140-3 validation - the current NIST cryptographic module standard that's replacing FIPS 140-2. For organizations in regulated industries, this is a meaningful development. FIPS 140-3 is becoming the baseline that procurement, audit, and compliance teams expect, and the timeline for getting there is getting shorter.

Axiad Conductor customers can deploy and manage the newYubiKey 5 FIPS Series today. No waiting for an update, no migration, no additional engagement. If you already use Conductor to manage YubiKeys, the new FIPS 140-3 series works with your existing workflows and policies right out of the box.

Buying validated hardware is the easy part. What compliance actually requires is being able to demonstrate - to an auditor, on demand - who has which authenticator, when it was issued, and whether it's in a compliant state. That's what Conductor is built to do.

If you're an existing Conductor customer, reach out to your Customer Success contact to discuss refreshing your current inventory to the new series. If you're evaluating how to deploy FIPS 140-3 YubiKeys at scale, we'd be glad to show you how Conductor handles it.
